The installer should find the dod folder itself... if it does not you will see this notice in a pop up box...
=================================
INSTALLER HELP SCREEN: Installer can't automatically find the dod folder address.

IT'S OK TO CONTINUE... it just means you will have to find it manually...

2. Select your options from the Components screen. Press Next...

3. Press Browse in the Choose Install Location screen and navigate to the dod folder...

Here is a sample of a typical dod folder address...

Remember... the last folder must be the dod folder! See the readme for this same info.

4. Press Install ... then Finish in the popup after that. DONE!
=================================

Just do what it says... simple, most imprtant thing? "the last folder must be the dod folder"

INsanes Medal HUD Version 1 ... 6 August 2008

Primary reason for this HUD is to introduce some rewards for players in the way of graphics. The older versions, (MOH Version 3) of this had new graphics for the standard bare win panel.
Valve has introduced 2 changes since the Version 3 was made, sv_pure servers and a new engine plus achievements. I nearly scrapped this HUD but some people who are very important to me wanted it remade... so here it is.

Required: The main HUD base... not an option

Achievements: Reworked all images to small color versions.

Player icons: Reworked colored guns and flags.

Flags: Custom flags by INsane.

Objective icons: Lots of icons to support flags for most popular custom maps.

Crosshairs: INsanes standard custom set

Smaller netgraph: INsanes smaller netgraph fix.

Swastika realism: All flag images have Swastika. if you chose this it will add custom objective icons, flags, minimap and hud graphics to change.

Historic Classes: Class names changed to the older version of Day of Defeat.

Features (long and boring description)...

sv_pure 0, 1 and 2 and flexibility:

This HUD, unlike the old one, when played on a pure server will default back to standard files on disk. The standard graphics in the GCF file have been utilized and changed to make this happen... was not easy. The result is some close to relevant images are used so the user can jump from sv_pure 0 to 1 or 2 and not have ugly pink and black checkered boxes or a white box signaling that the image is disallowed.

This approach has also opened up the possibility of changing the country theme. This is all about Medals and flags, so the British, French, Soviets and whoever else can change this to suit.... the hard bit of all this is, it's fine doing that but the sounds, weapons, models need changing too. At least this provides a base so it can be done in the future. Instead of a Medal of Honor... what about a Victoria Cross for a blokes reward of a last flag capture and a war hero icon? Also possible is changing the graphics to a unit...say the 101st airborne for the allies.
Size:
Even through it is bigger than my normal ones, still shrinks the standard size down quite a bit. Smaller win panels even though they still have images. Removed the TNT, fire select panel and the MG bar... they are now in the "Player Status Panel"
Fonts have been adjusted. There is a small fonts option.

Achievements:
Love em' or hate em'... They are here now. I have used 8 of the 105 new images for the sv_pure comparability on the win panels.
So... I kept going and did the flaming lot. Hope you like the results and maybe it will stir up a bit of interest in someone else doing another set for the country of choice?

Player icons:
Valve have some nice stylish green star and iron cross with white guns... what I have is some flag types and colored gun graphics in their place.
I don't like Valves war hero ones... looks like those stamps the teacher gave out for doing great finger paintings in grade one changed them for sure :)

Flags:
I put in some flags if they are needed.

Swastika realism:
These images are an option, Iron Cross for the German side is the default and images that may offend are optional.

Objective icons:
I tried to do as many maps as possible... still have more to do, most popular maps supported, this is an option for Iron cross but default for Swastika. (The installer files get too hard otherwise)

Crosshairs and Smaller font netgraph:
My standard sets for these options.
